Mission Overview
The Mission addresses health-related aspects of climate change through awareness, capacity building, health-systems strengthening, surveillance of climate-sensitive illnesses, and climate-resilient healthcare facilities. Implementation is pan-India through NHM Programme Implementation Plans. The Mission Steering Committee is chaired by the Secretary, MoHFW; ICMR and DHR support research and development.

- Continued under National Health Mission (NHM) — for as long as NHM is ongoing.

- Five adaptation focus areas: Awareness, Capacity Building, Health Systems Strengthening, Surveillance, Climate-Resilient Healthcare.
- Mitigation focus: GHG reduction, energy & water efficiency, sustainable procurement in healthcare.
- NAPCC 2.0 indicator set: 16 indicators across institutional set-up, planning, surveillance, capacity building and heat / air-pollution response.
- Funded through NHM PIP and PMABHIM — ₹104 Crore allocated for FY 2025-26 to NPCCHH alone.

Strengthen healthcare services for climate-sensitive illnesses and enhance the adaptive capacity of communities vulnerable to climate change impacts on health.
