About
Mission Overview
The National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency (NMEEE) was launched on June 2010 under the 11th Cabinet Plan, and aligned to India's NDCs through a review by the Executive Committee on Climate Change (ECCC), chaired by the Principal Secretary to the Hon'ble Prime Minister, on September 2021. The Mission is anchored by the Ministry of with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) as the implementing agency and MoEFCC as the co-nodal ministry. NMEEE's focus is the transition of industrial sectors to a low-carbon footing — through the Perform-Achieve-Trade (PAT) scheme, the Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS) and India's carbon market, and the longer-horizon shift to hydrogen, CCUS and renewables-led industrial energy.
